Off to an early start for our Family vacation trip to Tahoe. We are up at the airport by 6 AM for the 1st leg four flight to Houston. The flight starts out pretty good but I am not overly confident as when the pilot come on for his initial update, he mentions about 4 times that the ride may be a little bumpy. That was an understatement, not only very bumpy but we ended up going substantially out of the way to avoid the really bad air. Wrong. – We got a bite of lunch in Houston and then headed for our flight to Reno. We are held in the taxing position when the pilot says there was a mechanical problem with the AC but they got it fixed and were awaiting clearance to proceed. After about 1/2 an hour into our flight the pilot announces that another problem has arisen and the cabin would not pressurize and they would have to return to Houston. Before we could return though they would have to burn off some fuel and that would take about an hour or so. After about 2 hours flying in circles around Houston we landed and were told they were bringing in a new crew and plane in a few hours. The next flight was pretty uneventful (thankfully) and we finally arrived in Reno to pick up the rental cars and proceed to Tahoe. We got to the resort after dark, everyone was pretty exhausted and ready to get some rest and put this day behind us.
