Kayak Trip on Floyds Fork on 4/16/2019
Home Again!
Hard to let a warm sunny day with the water up in Floyds Fork without taking advantage of it. I have found the best thing about retirement so far is the ability to JUST DO IT!
Casey texted about 10 AM the following Text: “Pretty Day” and I said “Gorgeous” and by 11:30 we were off on another Kayaking trip down Floyds Fork to Fisherville.

We thoroughly enjoyed our trip until we got to the railroad bridge at Taylorsville Road. Casey was chatting with another Kayaker (apparently fellow schoolmates @ Jtown HS) when the last rapid appeared and he ran into a tree and almost capsized. He did stay in the Kayak but unfortunately his Brand New iPhone XR Max (less than a month old) didn’t. The water at this point was fast moving and about 6 feet deep and the phone was no where in sight.
Luckily, he did have insurance on the phone and was able to replace it within a few days. I won’t mention that when I bought my Kayaks I also bought 4 waterproof phone carriers (one for each Kayak). and yes I did use mine. 🙂
