Scotland – Day 15 (Oban)
Day 15 – Sunday, October 1, 2017
We leave Ft. William today and head for Oban and our last stop here in Scotland. We are staying at a little place named Tigh Beg Croft. Its a small house a few miles past Oban in what we have read is a little isolated and off the beaten Path.
We head out after breakfast and the rain and wind pick up considerably. At one of the pullout area I decide to double check our reservation details and to my surprise it says we were supposed to check in yesterday and arrangements must be made in advance if keys not picked upon specified date.
OH SHIT!
I try to call to figure out what we can do and guess what? it’s also Sunday. I leave a message and we decide to head towards the address of the rental agent on the reservation. We arrive at the address and I talk with the owner and while talking with him Sam the rental agent calls and all is good, the key is in a lockbox at the house and we are given some new directions and off we go. Off the Beaten path my ass. We take off on a narrow and I mean narrow one lane road that has twists and turns and then aft 3 or 4 miles turns into an even narrower unpaved road that has gates that must be opened and sheep that must be dodged. About the time we think we are lost see the water in the distance. Finally, we arrive at the parking area and find a cart to help us pack our luggage to the house. The wind and rain are coming down so hard we are pretty much drenched by the time we arrive. The place is all that was advertised and then some.
Thank you Casey & Rachel 🙂
